[2024/07/01 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: Lying on the floor are two dead bodies; the bodies seem horribly wilted, the corpses twisted in agony. A search of the bodies reveals nothing of importance, a short sword, some brushes, and 20cp. The chamber has friezes along the walls, depicting the mighty deeds of a long dead king, Al-Fred. The deeds are defeating an opposing army (twice, it seems), and the building of a fort, and the capture of a mighty city. Other friezes depict the king as a great scholar, surrounded by books.)
[2024/07/01 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: The archeologist gives a shrill scream and drops the lantern. "AAAAAAAAHHHH! THEY'RE DEAD! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THEM??"
[2024/07/01 16:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Do these brushes look familiar?" she asks of the archeologist, heard hardened against horrors by regular exposure.
[2024/07/01 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: The archeologist blinks, stares at Debben, blinks, and nods. "Y...yes... they're dead..."
[2024/07/01 16:04] Alicia Frakture: Suddenly not sure the book is all that important."
[2024/07/01 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana looks over the bodies briefly. "Dead many hundreds of years? One of these has some papers..."
[2024/07/01 16:04] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She looks over the murals, eyes lingering ont he books, then back to the dead bodies, trying to figure out how they died. "From the way he's screaming, they only look like they've been here ages. Some sort of.... age vampire or a dessication spell?"

[2024/07/01 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: Archeologist: "And that book... can't let their death be for nothing!"
[2024/07/01 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: Parchments: seems to be a journal of sorts. "Day 17. We are still digging at this site. Some peasants warned us not to, again, and I'm wondering if they might not be right. The area seems eerily quiet and devoid of wildlife. Scholars say we live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it is not meant that we should voyage far. And, I think, the sciences, each strain in their own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. Or, maybe, I'm just getting paranoid!"

[2024/07/01 16:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Hmmmm. Lots of worry, but no specifics." She checks the other side of the parchment, rolling it up if it's just the hair side like usual, and setting it with her other scrolls. "Katana, if we try to avenge these people we're likely to just get snared by the same thing that killed them."
[2024/07/01 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "And if we leave, and some innocents get snared? What then? We might be able to nip this evil in the bud before it spreads."
[2024/07/01 16:19] Alicia Frakture: If we leave and give up then yeah that is a possibility, but we're going in blind. we don't know if it's some abomination from the pits or a group of angry weapon wielding koalas.
[2024/07/01 16:20] Alicia Frakture: If we go out and get some info, maybe even check notes left behind by his friends we can learn something
[2024/07/01 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "For the greater good, we must deal with this. Surely it is the right thing to do!"

[2024/07/01 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: Archeologist: "None. We just got here, like I said."
